I find myself mining sand, instead.Īlso, do trees respawn? I am afraid I will find myself running out of wood soon enough in chopping nearby trees down. I am finding already that mining copper is hard to distinguish from sand. I will get used to it eventually.Īny tips or suggestions for the game, which I'm sure I'm not doing, would be appreciated. So trying to sync the controller to the game was just something not working for me so I went back to keyboard and mouse. ![]() I tried to sync my PS4 controller to it, as it's supposed to be controller supported, but when I got to the game menu, the dualshock did not control the options (New Game, Load, etc.) and trying to use the mouse cursor it sometimes was on the screen and sometimes wasn't. They are easy enough, for PC users, but for those used to consoles I am not as used to the WASD controls. I am guessing I am not doing everything optimally, as well.Īnother aspect is getting used to the controls. It just takes so long to get those done, especially in making sure you have enough wood. Just trying to right now get to know everyone in town and find myself exploring the mine every day for copper (needed for a number of my commissions). But I can see Wood is going to be extremely valuable as it's needed as fuel for the Stone Furnace. Thankfully the fuel for the Grinder lasts for 3 days. I am guessing I will be able to get more later.Ĭurrently I have a Stone Furnace and Grinder. ![]() But I have run into one food so far that restores it, however haven't used it. There is just so much to do! Where I still wouldn't accomplish everything I wanted in day at my slower speed, my biggest enemy right now is my Stamina as I run out before I need to go to bed (usually anywhere around 10-midnight). I couldn't imagine having to play the game at 100% speed. I slowed the day down as much as I could (50%) and I find it really makes it a lot more enjoyable for me as it gives me enough time to do and accomplish a lot in the day. I only just started the 5th day, but it is already extremely addicting. So I finally created a Steam account (yes, one of those people) and purchased the game. I was originally going to buy the GOG version, as that is what I have used for my PC games before, but then heard horror stories about using GOG, as well. So I finally caved in and bought the PC version. ![]() But the final nail in the coffin was hearing the console versions did not have the option to slow down the day, which was the deal-breaker for me. ![]() There is also DLC the PC has the console does not have access to. And even the developers stated there are some relics that can't be picked up from the mines, and where they intend to fix it, there is no timeframe. I then went back and forth if I wanted to try it on PS4 instead of Switch, but then heard, besides performance, there are just a lot of things missing from the console version compared to PC. If you want to read directly about my experiences playing the game, and not my reasons why I chose PC (Steam), skip to paragraph 4.Īt first I disregarded the game, as where I have a PC and will use it for games if I have to, I have always preferred console as I can use my TV (and I don't bother with hooking my PC up to my TV, it's a desktop and in my room). I wasn't looking for clones of Harvestella, as I know it is unique in it's own right, but I've always been open to trying more of them as I've always liked the idea of the farming/sim games but just haven't had a lot of experience with them until now. Well, on another thread I had asked on recommendations about other farming sim games besides Harvestella, one game that came up more than once was My Life was Portia.
